1. §(2-2) И помолился Иона Господу Богу своему из чрева кита
УПО: (2-2) І молився Йона до Господа, Бога свого, з утроби тієї риби,
KJV: Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
2. (2-3) и сказал: к Господу воззвал я в скорби моей, и Он услышал меня; из чрева преисподней я возопил, и Ты услышал голос мой.
УПО: (2-3) та й казав: Я кликав з нещастя свого до Господа, і відповідь дав Він мені, із нутра шеолу кричав я, і почув Ти мій голос!
KJV: And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
3. (2-4) Ты вверг меня в глубину, в сердце моря, и потоки окружили меня, все воды Твои и волны Твои проходили надо мною.
УПО: (2-4) І Ти кинув мене в глибочінь, у серце моря, і потік оточив був мене. Усі хвилі Твої та буруни Твої надо мною пройшли.
KJV: For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4. (2-5) И я сказал: отринут я от очей Твоих, однако я опять увижу святый храм Твой.
УПО: (2-5) І сказав я: Я вигнаний з-перед очей Твоїх, проте ще побачу я храм Твій святий.
KJV: Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5. (2-6) Объяли меня воды до души моей, бездна заключила меня; морскою травою обвита была голова моя.
УПО: (2-6) Вода аж по душу мене обгорнула, безодня мене оточила, очерет обвиває кругом мою голову!
KJV: The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6. (2-7) До основания гор я нисшел, земля своими запорами навек заградила меня; но Ты, Господи Боже мой, изведешь душу мою из ада.
УПО: (2-7) Я зійшов аж до споду гори, а земля її засуви стали за мною навіки! Та підіймеш із ями життя моє, Господи, Боже Ти мій!
KJV: I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
7. (2-8) Когда изнемогла во мне душа моя, я вспомнил о Господе, и молитва моя дошла до Тебя, до храма святаго Твоего.
УПО: (2-8) Як у мені омлівала душа моя, Господа я спогадав, і молитва моя ця до Тебе долинула, до храму святого Твого!
KJV: When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8. (2-9) Чтущие суетных и ложных [богов] оставили Милосердаго своего,
УПО: (2-9) Ті, що тримаються марних божків, свого Милосердного кидають.
KJV: They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9. (2-10) а я гласом хвалы принесу Тебе жертву; что обещал, исполню: у Господа спасение!
УПО: (2-10) А я голосною подякою принесу Тобі жертву, про що присягав я, те виконаю. Спасіння у Господа!
KJV: But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10. §(2-11) И сказал Господь киту, и он изверг Иону на сушу.
УПО: (2-11) І Господь звелів рибі, і вона викинула Йону на суходіл.
KJV: And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
